Not much of the wreck was visible – there’s quite a lot of sand out there these days but we did manage to find the boiler. At first, we were a little nervous – there was a group of spear fishermen out there and with the visibility not so good, we didn’t want to risk becoming prey. Last weekend, I had a great dive planned with some good friends including one that I hadn’t seen for a long time but all that was dashed by a cruel virus that I am still recovering from. It can be very tempting to go diving in spite of feeling bad but as a recent article in Alert Diver magazine pointed out, this can not only endanger your health but could also potentially put others in danger – people who may feel compelled to put themselves in danger to help you.

Dave went out with the group and, despite a few problems with some newer divers, they had a great time and everyone got back safe.
