Well, from all I could see, the Deerfield Beach cleanup under the pier was a resounding success. By the time Dave and I got to the beach at around 8:35 Saturday morning, they had already checked in 150 divers. As you can see, there’s a lot of pier to clean so I’m sure they were busy for the whole morning.
I assume that they were but I don’t know because we saw all the people and bailed.
Update: They were successful – 170+ divers according to Brett at the ScubaBoard. The pictures look great – an octopus and … is that a lionfish? (more…)

Ever since I got my underwater camera, I’ve wanted to see if I could create a little underwater movie. This is my first – please don’t mock me.

Well, I’m finally healthy so today we decided to make our way out to the Delray Wreck. We were a group of four – me and Dave and our friends Jeff and Cara. Not much of the wreck was visible – there’s quite a lot of sand out there these days but we did manage to find the boiler. At first, we were a little nervous – there was a group of spear fishermen out there and with the visibility not so good, we didn’t want to risk becoming prey. But by the time we were ready to dive, the fishermen were gone and we had the wreck to ourselves.
We saw a fair amount of wildlife:
